Pedal and Pint – Business-led Perth Hills Tourism Initiative – March 2022
Congratulations to our local taverns and hotels in the Shire of Mundaring for their recent collaboration on a business-led tourism initiative for the Mundaring area of the Perth Hills. Led by The Parkerville Tavern, and generously supported by Community Bank Mundaring, Pedal and Pint shows what can be achieved when businesses come together in collaboration.
If you’ve ever fancied riding the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail on your bike, stopping at one or more of the taverns and hotels on the way, there is now a dedicated website and leaflet that gives approximate distances between venues, accommodation options and even details of a pedal-assisted e-bike tour operator to hire bikes from and guide you.
‘Pedal and Pint’ was officially launched on Tuesday 22 February at The Parkerville Tavern, and the Pedal and Pint Collective (aka all the taverns and hotels in the Shire of Mundaring) would like to give a huge thanks to Community Bank Mundaring and participating businesses who made it possible!
Our region’s historical taverns and hotels are part of the rich tapestry of our history. Each individual tavern and hotel is not just a place to drink alcohol. Each offers a place to share meals and enjoy one another’s company, to have time with family and friends and to meet neighbours. They are a place for people to stop by for a quick drink and catch-up with friends after work. Each offers a place for people to celebrate important life events – christenings, birthdays, passing exams, weddings, anniversaries and wakes. And collectively they showcase our region’s unique, Perth Hills’ lifestyle and welcome visitors from near and far.
Our taverns and hotels are hubs for our community, employers, and visitor attractions, and they are proud to be working together on this initiative to encourage people to explore our region by bike and experience the warm hospitality of the Perth Hills.

Well done to everyone involved!
