We had the most wonderful time at our October Sundowner at Hartung House on 13 October 2020. Out hosts were so welcoming and showed us around the magnificent property they work from, a truly iconic house in Mundaring and home to two fantastic businesses – 27 Hartung and The Beaute Collective.
Vanessa Anderson, co-owner of Hartung House, gave a presentation to our guests. We share it with you here:
“On behalf of myself Ness, my business partner Leah and our team we WHOLEHEARTEDLY welcome you to Hartung House.
We thought you may find a little bit of history interesting about our beautiful property, so have put a few facts together to share.
She was built in 1905 and we call her a grand old lady. She is listed on the State Register as a property of significance and is one of the few remaining weatherboard homes in our shire. She has been lovingly restored and the energy here at 27 Hartung, I’m sure you will agree, is very special.
She has many rooms, bathrooms and living spaces …You might just get lost as you explore!!
Built and owned by the first barrister in Mundaring, Hartung house has been many things to many people through the ages. It has been a family home ( quite a few times over), it has been the home to many amazing artworks when it was “The Braun Art Gallery” and has also had many cuppas shared as a “Tea Room”.
It originally took up a huge area – all five blocks now surrounding Hartung House were in the first lot, way back in the early 1900’s with stables and horses. It was very rural and very different to how we find it today.
Extensions were added onto the original homestead in the 1950’s and 1970’s and then an innovative, courageous and brave man called Robin, bought and restored the whole property in 2017-18. It was a labour of love for him and a pay it forward to his children when the property was sold.
In 2018 Leah discovered the “magical” Hartung House was for sale !!!
She would send me photos, selfies, live videos to me of the sun streaming through the trees with the fountain bubbling away in the background, (probably on the property illegally) but with such passion she was heard to say quite a few times….
“Oh my goodness Ness this place needs us”!!
And she did need us … and we kind of think we needed her too !
So one visit later…I had fallen in love with her too…
Very quickly we joined forces and Hartung House is now the home to “The Beaute Collective” and “27 Hartung” our luxury accommodation.
Our journey in transferring Leah’s successful business from Stoneville to Mundaring and creating the accommodation has been full of challenges which we have faced head on – together …and with the support of our beautiful team.
We are fortunate to be successful and it is because of the people we choose and that choose us, that are here standing with us today.
Our dedicated senior therapist Bek, our talented front of house Tania , our trainees, and visiting professionals, our cleaning and gardening fairies…everyone supports each other.
Leah and I are proud hills residents and have been for many years. We believe in the value of community and collaboration and feel passionate about encouraging others to experience our thriving community in the hills.
The Beaute Collective offers advanced skin treatments and we engage other passionate visiting therapists who are results driven in aesthetics’ and skin and also passionate about caring for and meeting your beauty requirements.
Our vision has always been to create a space ……that reflects us collectively.
We are results driven in beauty and our luxury accommodation has been created to relax, restore and reconnect
Our philosophy is to look for the good things and when we encounter rough patches we communicate and problem solve to achieve an outcome that is positive for us all.
Covid was a great learning curve for us all – we rebranded we realigned and we have come through hopefully stronger and more robust as a business.
We feel blessed and have gratitude every day that we get to wake up and come to this place, to bring our best selves and provide the same for our clients and guests.”
Thank you once more to Leah, Ness and the team at Hartung House for such an awesome event and for doing business in our community!
