Community Bank® branch donations top $2 million
In July 2019, Chamber member, Mundaring Community Bank® Branch exceeded $2 million in donations to local community organisations and projects, since it was established in February 2002.
Mundaring Community Bank® Chair, Dr Richard Stuart said the branch was committed to supporting a thriving Hills community.
“Reaching the $2 million mark is such a fantastic achievement for a community enterprise that many perceived as a far-off dream 18 years ago,” Dr Stuart said.
“But we have taken the dream for a locally-owned and operated bank and turned it into a reality, financially supporting hundreds of community initiatives in the process.
“Thanks to the support of our shareholders, branch staff, company board and customers, we have been able to grow to be one of the biggest sources of community funding in Mundaring.”
Funding granted by Mundaring Community Bank® Branch has gone towards supporting a range of community groups, projects and events including:
- $25,000 to the Hills Sporting Community Raffle
- $1,000 to the Mundaring Chamber of Commerce for the printing of the “Weir in Business” Book.
- $1,500 to Zero2Hero for two local teenagers to be trained as mental health ambassadors.
- $100,000 towards the construction of the Mundaring Arena.
Dr Stuart said he hoped $2 million in donations would be just the start for the Mundaring Community Bank® Branch.
“With the support of the Hills community we can continue to grow our business and, most importantly, our community,” he said.
