Mundaring Sporting Club to host our October Sundowner

This months Sundowner is being hosted by Mundaring Sporting Club, home to Western Australia’s premier 36 hole disc golf course, built for both beginners and champion level players.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the WFDF 2024 World Team Disc Golf Championship (WTDGC) will be staged in Mundaring from Wednesday 6th November through Saturday 9th November, 2024.

This is an international event bringing an influx of people into our shire and we want you to be prepared for the festivities!

Our October Sundowner is perfect for all tourism businesses and especially accommodation and food operators. This is your chance to hear from the Mundaring Sporting Club and what to expect when the event is run next year.

Mundaring Sporting Club Disc Golf committee members Ken and Sue Summers, who competed at the 2021 and 2022 WTDGC events, will run the 2024 championship, which they hope will bring over 300 international competitors to Mundaring.

Not only will there be elite players, but also their team support, family and friends.

Mundaring Disc Golf President Ken Summers said “We are very excited to have the opportunity to host the very first WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championship held in the southern hemisphere. We look forward to working alongside WFDF and the Australian disc golf community to deliver a quality event, and to share our course, and Mundaring, with the world.”

So come and join us! Find out about the exciting international events to be held in 2024 that will benefit your business! Learn a bit more about the sport and take the opportunity to network and mingle with other business owners in the Perth Hills.

What is Disc Golf

Disc Golf is played like traditional golf.

However, instead of hitting a ball with a club, players throw a disc from the tee pad to a metal basket. The aim of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest throws possible. The player with the lowest score for the course wins.

WTDGC is WFDF’s premier disc golf event and sees teams of up to 12 playing disc golf for their country in team and individual match play formats. WTDGC 2024 will be the fifth iteration of the biannual championship, with the first event held in Vancouver, Canada in 2016 with 6 countries taking part, and the most recent event in Croatia last year with 25 national teams.
